Who I Am
My name is Celeste Lo, a designer based in Los Angeles, California. I have two weenie dogs named Wolfgang (16 years) and Felix (8 years) who bring joy to my everyday life. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new cooking recipes and honing my art skills!
Started with a packet
It all started when I looked down at our employment hire packet and thought to myself, "I can make this so much better".
I manage employee files on a daily basis, but found myself repeatedly running into the same frustrating issues. Employees would leave essential fields blank or input data in the wrong sections, creating unnecessary delays and inefficiencies in my work. It became clear that the forms themselves needed a redesign to be more intuitive and organized.
That is when I got to work- revamping my company's entire hiring packet to make it more seamless, changing the colors and graphics for a modern look, and created user-friendly protocol rulebooks.
I craved so much more
It took me around two weeks to get my work fully approved by the executives and launched to our fifteen dental practices. Throughout the process, I brainstormed ideas, conducted research, explored different designs, iterated, and executed my vision
Going through this experience at my administerative role made me realize how much I loved it! I kept thinking, "I want to design. I want to create. I want to make an impact."
What I did before
I have extensive Psychology research and clinical experience, collaborating with teams and clients to help them achieve their goals. My previous work includes my involvement with social behavioral research studies, conducting live user interview sessions, and transcribing audio/video data. I have worked at women's mental health rehabilitation centers as a tecehnician monitoring client well-being and ensuring adherence to center regulations. Additionally, as a behavioral therapist, I collaborated with a multidisiplianry team to support our client's educational and emotional development.
I gained strong interpersonal communication and active/passive listening skills that allow me to develop strong rapport with team members, clients, and executives. I currently work as an administrative human resources assistant where I help with day-to-day tasks, but also frequently design new company documentations, employee letters, and data sheets.
